Storage conditions for Automated Guided Vehicles

Storage conditions significantly impact the performance and service life of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). For long-term or intermittent storage, select a dry, well-ventilated indoor location with a stable environment, ensuring protection from direct sunlight and rain. Additionally, the storage area should be kept away from high temperatures, strong electromagnetic interference, and corrosive gases to prevent performance degradation or corrosion of electronic components and metal structures.

Regarding temperature and humidity control, the ambient temperature should generally be maintained between 0°C and 40°C, with relative humidity kept at a reasonable level (typically not exceeding 80%) to prevent moisture damage to electrical systems or battery performance degradation. For AGVs equipped with lithium batteries, maintain an appropriate charge level during long-term storage (usually recommended between 40% and 60%) and perform periodic charge-discharge maintenance to prevent battery over-discharge or aging.

For mechanical and electrical protection, AGVs should be thoroughly cleaned before storage to remove dust, oil, and debris from the vehicle body, and key components-such as wheel assemblies, sensors, and connecting cables-should be inspected for integrity. At the same time, the main power supply should be disconnected and the control system shut down; if necessary, exposed interfaces should be treated for dust and moisture resistance to enhance safety during storage.

A regular inspection schedule should be established for long-term storage to periodically assess the equipment's status, including battery condition, structural integrity, and electronic system performance. Any anomalies detected should be addressed promptly through maintenance or adjustments to storage conditions. Standardized storage management measures effectively minimize deterioration during periods of inactivity, ensuring the AGV remains in optimal operating condition when returned to service.
